Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of JobClaude (“JobClaude”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data when you use the JobClaude website and related features (the “Service”).
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”), you are the Data Principal and we are the Data Fiduciary for personal data you share with us. This notice is meant to be readable on its own. Using JobClaude is also subject to our Terms and Conditions.
We do not sell your personal data.
2. Personal data we collect
We collect only what we need to run the features you use. Depending on how you use JobClaude, that can include:
Account and Google sign-in. If you continue with Google (including Google One Tap), we receive basic profile identifiers you authorise — typically your name, email address, and profile photo.
Resume and profile. When you upload a PDF resume, we store the file and extract information from it to build your JobClaude profile. That often includes your name, email, phone number, location, work history, education, skills, links (for example LinkedIn or a portfolio), and other details you put on the resume. You may also edit search preferences such as role, experience, and job-board filters.
Gmail, if you connect it. To send applications from your own inbox and to see whether a recruiter replied, JobClaude requests Gmail send and read access. We store a token so we can perform those actions until you disconnect. We use Gmail to send the application you confirm (including your resume as an attachment) and to read the related message threads so the dashboard can update status. We do not use your inbox to send marketing, and we do not read unrelated mail to build a profile about you.
Applications. When you apply, we keep the company, role, location, recipient email, subject and body you sent, match information, resume reference, and delivery status so we can show progress and avoid duplicate sends.
Payments. If you buy Pro access (a Job Pack), Razorpay processes the payment. We receive confirmation of the transaction (such as amount, currency, and payment status). We do not store full card numbers or UPI PINs.
Technical data. We use session cookies and similar storage so you stay signed in, and we process ordinary device and log information needed to operate, secure, and debug the Service (for example IP address, browser type, and error logs).
3. How we use personal data
We use personal data to:
- Create and keep your account, and sign you in with Google.
- Parse your resume, show a profile, and match you with listed jobs.
- Draft application emails and send them from your Gmail when you apply, with your resume attached.
- Suggest a recruiter or careers contact from publicly available information, for you to confirm before sending.
- Track applications and check those Gmail threads for replies.
- Process Pro purchases and unlock paid job access.
- Secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with law.
- Send service messages about your account or these policies — not unrelated advertising.
We process this data because you ask us to provide the Service (including when you upload a resume, sign in, connect Gmail, apply, or pay), and where the DPDP Act allows processing for such requested uses, security, and legal duties.
4. AI processing
Resume text, profile fields, job listings, and application drafts are processed by Google Cloud Vertex AI (Gemini) so we can extract a structured profile, score job fit, and generate email copy. That processing happens only to provide those JobClaude features.
We do not send Gmail messages, threads, or other Google Workspace API user data to this model. The use of raw or derived user data received from Workspace APIs will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data to create, train, or improve foundational or generalized machine learning or artificial intelligence models.
AI output can be wrong. It is not a decision about your employment by us; employers make their own hiring decisions. Do not put secrets in your resume or drafts that you are not willing to have processed for these purposes.
6. Google user data (Limited Use)
JobClaude’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In particular:
- Gmail send is used only to deliver job-application messages you initiate, with your resume attached, to recipients you confirm.
- Gmail read is used only to inspect those application threads so we can detect recruiter replies and update your dashboard.
- Gmail and other Workspace API user data are not sent to Vertex AI or any other AI/ML system, and are not used to train or improve models.
- We do not use Google user data to serve advertisements.
- We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as needed to provide the user-facing features above (for example, delivering the email to the employer you chose), for security, or as required by law.
- We do not allow humans to read your Gmail content unless you give prior consent, it is needed for security or legal compliance, or the data is aggregated and no longer tied to you.
You can disconnect JobClaude from Google at any time in your Google Account permissions.
8. How long we keep data
We keep personal data while your account is active and as long as needed to provide the Service — for example your resume, profile, and application history so you can track what you sent.
If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal data we control, unless we must keep a limited record for law, security, dispute resolution, or completed payments. Backups may take a short additional period to expire. Emails already sitting in an employer’s inbox cannot be pulled back by us.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections, restricted access, and private storage for resume files. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You should also protect your Google account.
10. Your rights
Subject to the DPDP Act and other applicable law, you may:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erase personal data that we no longer need to keep.
- Withdraw consent for optional processing (for example, disconnect Gmail). Withdrawal does not affect processing already completed.
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity, where the DPDP Act provides for that.
To make a request, write to us from the email address on your JobClaude account. We may need to verify it is you. You may also complain to the Data Protection Board of India if you believe we have not handled your data lawfully.
11. Children
JobClaude is for people aged 18 and over who are looking for work. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has used the Service, contact us and we will delete the data we can identify.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the product or the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. For material changes, we will try to give reasonable notice in the product. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
13. Contact
For privacy questions or Data Principal requests, contact us from the email address associated with your JobClaude account, or through in-product support when it is available.
